Abloy, the leading high-performance lock and access company, are celebrating their
100-year history with a substantial installation at the IFSEC exhibition at Birmingham's
NEC.
Lighthouse, commissioned to create and promote this stand, have produced a distinctive
100 years brand and a timeline as a focal point to the stand to chart Abloy's history
from its beginnings in 1907, right up to its current worldwide success in 2007.
"Abloy asked us to create something really special for their 100 year celebrations,"
says Mike Scott, MD of Lighthouse.
"So we persuaded them to use a timeline as the basis for their stand. Not only is
this timeline a great way to celebrate Abloy's centenary, it also puts Abloy's
heritage in context."
In creating this timeline, Lighthouse have selected key moments from Abloy's long
history to mark each milestone of the company, such as the conception of a revolutionary
detainer disc lock in 1907 and Abloy's first introduction to the UK in 1964.
To put Abloy's successes into a historical context, Lighthouse have interwoven important
global events with Abloy's achievements, such as the golden age of cinema occurring
at the same time as the founding of Abloy's Tampere facility in 1936.
The timeline, forming the backbone of the display, incorporates a meeting area as
well as a product radiation section with examples of Abloy's latest access control
innovations. At 20m2, Lighthouse's design for the stand is substantial as well as
inventive, helping to further cement Abloy's position as a major player in the security
market. David Wright, Lighthouse creative director, adds, "We wanted to emphasise
Abloy's status as a company with a lot of history behind them, while also showing
their vision for the future. Creating the brand and timeline allowed us to produce
a visually stimulating vehicle for demonstrating Abloy's innovation and forward
thinking throughout the years."
As well as the IFSEC stand, Lighthouse have also created online advertising and
a brochure for Abloy's centenary celebrations.
